2 Men Assaulted With Sword, Aluminum Baseball Bat In Bellflower

BELLFLOWER (CBSLA.com) — Two men were recovering on Friday after being attacked near a riverbed in Bellflower.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, deputies were sent to 10500 block of Flora Vista Street at View Park Avenue for report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned two adult men were attacked by two Hispanic suspects near the San Gabriel Valley riverbed during a confrontation.

One of the suspects carried an 18-inch sword. The second suspect was seen armed with an aluminum baseball bat.

According to deputies, the first victim sustained a laceration from the sword across his forehead. The other victim was seriously injured after being struck with the baseball bat.

Paramedics transported both victims to a hospital where they have been listed in stable condition.

During a search of the area, deputies arrested one of the suspects. The second man remains at large.

According to authorities, both weapons used in the assault have not yet been located.
