Armed Suspect Barricaded In South LA Home Peacefully Surrenders

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — SWAT teams were involved in a standoff with a man who barricaded himself inside of a home in South Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Shortly before 1 a.m., officers were sent to a residence located in the area of 69th Street and Estrella Avenue.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a woman who reported her husband, who is reportedly paralyzed, refused to leave the home.

Police attempted to contact the suspect via telephone as homes in the immediate area were evacuated.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man was taken into custody shortly after 5 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
