Suspicious Packages Deemed Safe At Valencia Shopping Complex

VALENCIA (CBSLA.com) — "Suspicious packages" have been deemed safe at a shopping complex in Valencia.

Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station responded to a stolen vehicle report in the 23700 block of Del Monte Drive around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Authorities found the vehicle, described to be a late-model Toyota Camry, in the parking lot area of Whole Foods Market and Kohl's in the 24100 block of Valencia Boulevard.

Inside the vehicle, deputies saw a bag that contained wires and other things.

A bomb squad was called to investigate.

Large portions of the shopping center, including some nearby businesses, were evacuated.

Around 9 p.m., it was reported that no explosives were found.
