Scene Cleared After Report Of Suspicious Device At Long Beach Eatery

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A suspicious device that temporarily closed portions of Long Beach has been cleared, authorities said.

Long Beach police received a call about 6:55 a.m. Saturday of the suspicious device at Long Beach Boulevard and 7th Street.

When they arrived on scene, they evacuated the restaurant and adjacent streets.

Nancy Pratt, a spokesperson for the Long Beach Police Department, said the bomb squad was called to the scene.

As of 9:13 a.m., Long Beach police reported that the scene has been cleared and Long Beach Boulevard between 4th and 8th streets were reopened.
