Suspects Wanted For Vandalizing Newhall Preschool

NEWHALL (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Thursday were looking for several suspects wanted for vandalizing a Santa Clarity Valley preschool.

The crime occurred during the overnight hours of Aug. 26 at a preschool in the 24600 block of Walnut Street in Newhall, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

According to deputies, several suspects entered the school, stole items and vandalized the property.

"When school staff arrived in the morning hours, interior cabinets were open, paint was spilled on the floors, and items were stolen from the classroom.  Staff also noticed a strong odor of alcohol in the building," officials said.

A trash bag full of beer cans was also found on the campus.

"Items stolen from inside the school included hand puppets, a textured domino set, a camera, microphone, batteries, and an iPod charger.  These items were educational tools used to teach young children," the LASD said.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact officials at (661)255-1121.
