Suspects Taken Into Custody As Pursuit, Standoff Ends In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Three people have been arrested following an attempted robbery and shooting that left a person wounded in South Los Angeles Monday.

Police say the incident began with an attempted robbery and a shooting around 8 a.m. in the 1600 block of East 47th Street.

A man was shot in the thigh. A short pursuit ended at 61st Street and Hooper Avenue after the suspect vehicle blew a tire.

Two people in the vehicle were arrested and a third person barricaded himself inside a house near the intersection. SWAT teams were called to the scene.

Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel arrived after part of the house later caught fire.

The suspect was taken into custody after he jumped out of a window.

The victim of the attempted robbery was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
