Suspects In Mercedes-Benz Reportedly Fire Shots Before Getting Into Fiery Crash

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Several men inside a Mercedes-Benz reportedly fired shots on a Riverside street Friday before slamming into a cement pillar, setting the car ablaze.

The shooting was reported around 5 p.m. and may have been directed at another vehicle, Riverside police Lt. Julian Hutzler said.

Moments later, the car crashed just past the Victoria Avenue bridge, between Myrtle Avenue and Woodbine Street.

At least two male suspects fled the scene and ran into a nearby golf course before officers arrived.

The bride was closed until 7:30 p.m.

Officers did not locate any shooting victims.
