Suspected Thief Leaves Lasting Digital Impression During Harbor City Heist

HARBOR CITY (CBSLA.com) — Police continue to search for a man who allegedly made off with a local family's security cameras but not without leaving a lasting digital impression: his face.

The suspect was reportedly captured on camera during the heist at the Harbor City home last Sunday morning just before 7:30 a.m.

"He's reaching up and he's taking the other camera. The first camera," homeowner George Tanaka told CBS2's Jeff Nguyen.

Tanaka says he realized that two of his cameras were gone when he looked at his screen and noticed that only one camera was rolling.

"I felt kind of angry, you know, that somebody would do that," he said.

Tanaka's wife says the couple installed the cameras following some recent car break-ins in the area.

The detective working the case says the suspect apparently had no idea the cameras were on.

Investigators suspect that the alleged thief may be a local skateboarder who is taller than 6-feet, Nguyen reports.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
