Suspected Pacoima Gunman Surrenders To Police After Shooting

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — A suspected gunman surrendered to police Tuesday shortly after a person was wounded in a shooting at Pacoima motorcycle shop, officials said.

KNX 1070's Claudia Peschiutta reports police say the suspect walked into LAPD Foothill Division and turned himself in.

Officers responded to a shooting at Casey's Cycle Repair in the 10200 block of San Fernando Road at approximately 9:52 a.m., according to police.

Upon arrival, officers found one victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to Holy Cross hospital, police said. The victim's condition was not immediately known.

Several minutes later, police say an individual matching the description of the suspect walked into the front lobby of Foothill Station and turned himself in.

"The suspect walked into the front desk and said, 'I wanna turn myself in, I just shot someone'," said LAPD Sgt. Lester Freeman.

An officer then handcuffed the man and took a firearm from his back pocket, Freeman added. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Freeman said the victim was expected to survive following the shooting, which he said may have been over a "business dispute."

Police did not immediately release the name of the suspect, or other details of the crime.
