Suspected Hit-And-Run Driver Arrested After Pedestrian, Driver Struck In Separate Collisions

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man in a black pick-up truck was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly injuring two people in separate hit-and-run crashes in South L.A.

A pedestrian was struck at Slauson and Broadway avenues and a red SUV was struck on Slauson and Main Street shortly before 4 a.m., according to the LAPD.

The pick-up truck reportedly came to a stop at Main and 57th Street and the man driving was placed under arrest.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition.

The woman driving the SUV suffered an injury to her arm, according to CBS2/KCAL9's Joy Benedict.

Police said the pick-up truck was consistent with witnesses' description of the suspect's vehicle in both hit-and-run collisions.
