Suspect Wounded In Deputy-Involved Shootout In Lancaster
LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — A suspect was wounded in a deputy-involved shooting in Lancaster Sunday, officials said.
The male suspect was shot around 4:15 p.m. in the 43200 block of 16th Street West, said Deputy Kim Manatt of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
The man, hit reportedly one time by officer gunfire, was taken from the scene to Antelope Valley Hospital. His injury is described as non-life threatening.
No deputies were hurt in the incident.
Deputies were responding to 911 calls involving a person with a gun and an alleged gunshot victim. The male adult suspect fired numerous rounds from a firearm towards the first two responding deputies who arrived on scene, officials said.
Investigators told KCAL9's Cristy Fajardo that the suspect was involved in a domestic situation earlier in the day. The suspect reportedly fired his weapon during the dispute but did not hit anyone, authorities said.
The firearm used by the suspect was recovered at the location.
The investigation is on-going.
