Suspect Sought In Deadly Van Nuys Shooting

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com)  —  Detectives with the LAPD are on the hunt for the suspect in a deadly shooting in Van Nuys Tuesday evening.

Just before midnight, Van Nuys Area Patrol Officers responded to a radio call of shots fired around the 13000 block of Victory Boulevard.

According to witnesses, there were two vehicles parked in the lot near the 13000 block of Victory Boulevard. The witnesses heard arguing and then multiple gun shots.

After arriving, officers said they could not locate any evidence of a shooting.

At 12:50 a.m.,  a witness located a male victim of a shooting in front of the 13000 block of Sylvan Avenue, approximately one block away from the initial shots fired call.

The Los Angeles Fire Department found the victim suffering from a gun shot wound to the upper torso. That man was pronounced dead about ten minutes later, officials said.

Authorities said there was a blood trail from the area of the initial shooting to where the victim was discovered. Los Angeles Police Department Operations Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives were notified.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was a 38-year-old  Armenian man who resided in North Hollywood.

The suspect(s) are unknown at this time. The suspect  vehicle was described as four-door. There was no other suspect information, police said.
