Suspect shot by sheriff's deputy in Norwalk

At least one sheriff's deputy shot and wounded a suspect Saturday in Norwalk.

The shooting occurred about 5:40 p.m. Saturday in the 11000 block of Rosecrans Avenue at Studebaker Road, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

The circumstances leading to the shooting were not available, sheriff's officials said.

It was unclear if the man was armed.

The man was taken by paramedics to a hospital in unknown condition, officials said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were called to the scene to conduct one of the multiple investigations that follow shootings involving deputies.
