Suspect On Motorcycle Leads Police On High-Speed Pursuit In Riverside

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A motorcyclist led police on a high-speed pursuit Monday evening on city streets and freeways in Riverside County.

The pursuit began at 4:48 p.m. when officers in Riverside tried to pull over the driver of a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle for allegedly speeding, according to police.

The motorcyclist took off, continuing on to the westbound 91 Freeway and southbound Interstate 15.

Riverside police and CHP officers pursued the suspect on the ground as an air unit tailed him from above.

The suspect was taken into custody at 5:28 p.m. on California 79 and Jedediah Smith Road in Temecula.

Officials have not released further details.
