Attempted Murder Suspect Barricades Self Inside LA Home

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Officials on Thursday were on the scene of a barricade situation in the Westmont area.

Just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies were sent to a home located in the 10600 block of Wilton Place for report of a domestic violence call, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a 44-year-old woman outside the home, suffering from injuries to her head and arm.

According to neighbors, the victim's boyfriend ran back inside the home.

Around 5:30 a.m. this morning, a SWAT team made entry into the home and discovered the suspect had fled from the scene.

Deputies said two firearms were recovered from inside the home.

Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital, where she remains listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
