Suspect At Large In Perris After Sexual Battery On Teenage Girl

PERRIS (CBSLA.com) — Sheriff's deputies in Perris seek a man suspected in sexual battery.

Deputies responded to the 3500 block of River Walk Court near the intersection of May Ranch Parkway and Evans Road about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

A teenage female student was walking home from school about 10 minutes earlier when she said she was approached from behind by a male.

She told authorities the suspect grabbed her, held her and attempted to direct her toward nearby bushes. When the girl resisted and broke free, the male grabbed her again while making inappropriate comments. The assault was interrupted by a passing female motorist who scared the suspect away. The suspect was last seen running westbound on May Ranch Parkway toward Evans Road.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned Latino, 25-30 years old, 5-foot-6 and 190 pounds. The victim said the man had acne scarring and was wearing black jeans, black shoes, a white polo shirt and thick black-rimmed glasses. No suspect vehicle was seen.

Investigators from the Perris sheriff's station are asking for the public's help to identify the potential female witness, who was driving a black vehicle around the time the attack occurred.
