Suspect Arrested In Westlake District Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A suspect was in custody Wednesday after allegedly shooting inside a police search perimeter in the Westlake District.

Los Angeles police had established the perimeter just before midnight following a report of a man with a gun, officials said.

About two hours later, shots were fired near the intersection of W. Third Street and S. Union Avenue.

A suspect believed to be connected to both incidents was taken into custody.

It was unclear who the shots were directed towards, but it was determined they were not fired at officers.

No further details were released.
