Suspect Arrested In September Rape Of Huntington Beach Woman

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A suspect has been arrested for the rape of an Orange County woman in September, police said Friday.

Jesus Diaz Vasquez, 30, was arrested Thursday for felony sexual assault and robbery.

The Huntington Beach resident is accused of approaching a woman just after midnight on September 10 in the area of Parkside Lane and Aldrich Drive, according to authorities.

He tried to talk to the woman, but she walked away.

"The suspect then knocked her down and sexually assaulted her. After the attack, he stole her purse and ran away," said Lt. Ferrin.

Leads and a composite sketch released to the public led Vasquez's arrest.
