Suspect Arrested In Murder Of 59-Year-Old Oxnard Man

OXNARD (CBSLA.com)  —   Authorities have announced the arrest of a suspect in the murder of a 59-year-old Oxnard man.

Officials were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Inlet Drive just before 7 a.m. Saturday.

On arrival, officers said they found a man unresponsive.

Fire and EMS arrived to provide aid to the victim but he was deceased, authorities said.

The victim's name is being withheld until his next of kin can be notified, police said.

Detectives named 53-year-old Maynard Lee Allen, an Oxnard resident, as a person of interest in the murder and later arrested him.

Allen was booked at the Ventura County Jail.

Investigators have not determined a motive for the murder and said the investigation is on-going.

Authorities said the victim and suspect knew each other.
