Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Chase Through San Fernando Valley

CALABASAS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Monday morning was involved in a high-speed chase with a suspect that led them on the Ventura (101) Freeway and surface streets throughout the San Fernando Valley.

The pursuit began at 8:34 a.m. near the Reyes Adobe Road exit in Agoura when the driver of a black Ford SUV failed to yield to authorities for excessive speed, officials said.

The driver tried to evade authorities on the eastbound 101 Freeway through the Valley during the morning rush hour.

Authorities lost visual on the suspect for a while and then picked up the driver again after he exited the freeway around 9 a.m. and took to surface streets at a high rate of speed.

The suspect returned to the 101 around 9:15 a.m., continuing eastbound and driving in the right shoulder at times.

He exited the freeway at Reseda at 9:18 a.m. where he was involved in a minor accident over and arrested by the LAPD and CHP.

The suspect's name was not released.
