Surfer Dies After Being Pulled From Water Near Malibu Pier

MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — A surfer died after being pulled from the water Tuesday at Malibu Surfrider Beach.

The man, who was unresponsive, was pulled from the water near Malibu Pier by Los Angeles County Lifeguards around 11:20 a.m., officials said.

Lifeguards used a rescue board along with the help of nearby surfers to bring the man ashore.

He was in full cardiac arrest, according to county lifeguards.

A surf-advisory was issued by the National Weather Service for Tuesday through Friday evening.

County lifeguards said Surfrider beach had the largest waves in the county Tuesday.
