Sunset Boulevard Shut Down For Suspicious Package Investigation

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Sunset Boulevard was shut down for several hours Wednesday while police investigated a report of a suspicious package.

A suspicious package was reported at 7:50 a.m. in a parking lot in the 8000 block of West Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles police officials said. There were no threats reported in connection with the item.

At about 11:43 a.m., Los Angeles police said no explosives were found. The package turned out to be an unattended backpack filled with miscellaneous items.

LAPD officials said Sunset would reopen to traffic "shortly."

No evacuations were ordered.
