PALM DESERT (CBSLA.com) — The SunLine Transit Agency will host their ninth annual holiday food drive Wednesday at three locations in the Coachella Valley.

Donations of non-perishable and holiday food, frozen meats, packaged toiletries, diapers and other household items will be accepted during the "Fill the Bus" drive.

These items may be dropped off to SunLine buses from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.

Here are the following grocery store drop off locations:

— Walmart: 34-500 Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert

— Stater Bros.: 78-630 Highway 111 in La Quinta

— Ralphs: 1733 East Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs

The donations will go to Martha's Village and Kitchen in Indio, which provides homeless services, and the Well in the Desert in Palm Springs, which provides daily meals and emergency food assistance to needy clients.

The agency hopes to collect more than 15 tons of non-perishable items.
