Study: LA Is No. 1 In Instagram Posts Hashtagged #RoadRage

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — L.A. has already claimed the trophy this year for having the country's worst traffic. Now, the City of Angels is in first place in a new area: road rage.

Auto Insurance Center, which gathers information for auto insurance shopping, conducted the study by examining about 65,000 Instagram posts with the hashtag #RoadRage.

The study examined the 5,183 posts that were geotagged and found L.A. had the most posts using the hashtag, followed by New York City. Even when adjusted for population, L.A. was atop the list, the center said.

The center found a high correlation between #RoadRage posts and posts containing other words, including: "stuck," "work," "trafficjam," and "rushhour," along with a variety of profanities.

Among the other findings of the study: Instagram posts hashtagged #RoadRage peak from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and drivers are apparently at their mellowest on Sunday.
