Strike Averted With Kaiser Nurses Signing Tentative Contract

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Kaiser nurses won't go on strike next week now that they've agreed to a tentative contract.

The nurses union says the new contract will give their 18,000 members a 14 percent raise over three years.

It will also require Kaiser to hire hundreds of registered nurses.

The members still need to vote on the agreement.

The strike scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday was called off.
