Golden Globes: Streets Closures, Parking Restrictions In Effect

BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say drivers should be prepared to expect delays in and around the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday due to the 71st Golden Globe Awards.

Beverly Hills police said in a department statement that the following streets will be impacted:

• Santa Monica Blvd will be closed from Wilshire Boulevard to Century Park East through midnight.

• Whittier Drive from Lomitas Avenue to Wilshire Boulevard will be closed. Residents, who live on Whittier Drive between Wilshire and Elevado Avenue, will be allowed vehicular access, however.

No one will be allowed to park on Whittier Drive between Lomitas Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard through 10 p.m. In addition, "no parking" signs will be posted through midnight, on the following streets:

• Elevado Drive between Wilshire Boulevard and Walden Drive;

• Trenton Drive between Whittier Drive and Wilshire Boulevard;

• Carmelita Avenue between Wilshire Boulevard and Walden Drive;

• Walden Drive between Santa Monica Boulevard and Whittier Drive.
