Storms Fill Local Reservoirs With 6B Gallons Of Water

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Last week's winter storms have filled reservoirs in the San Gabriel Mountains with enough water to supply more than 150,000 people for a year, the LA Times reported.

The storm dropped as much as 11 inches in higher elevations, filling the reservoirs with approximately 6 billion gallons of water.

The Cogswell Dam on the San Gabriel River rose by 36 reed following the rainfall, larger dams rose by lesser amounts, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works said.
