Stabbing Reported Inside Hollywood Nightclub During Pre-Awards Show Party

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)   —  A stabbing was reported in Hollywood Saturday at a BET Awards pre-show party.

The stabbing was reported around 8:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of Ivar Avenue near De Longpre Ave.

Authorities told KCAL9's Bobby Kaple that a male in his 20s was attacked inside Lure Nightclub.

The wounded man was taken to Cedars-Sinai where he is listed in stable condition. Witnesses said after being stabbed, the man walked outside and waited for help to arrive.

Kaple, standing outside the club, reported, "There is still blood visible on the sidewalk where I'm standing."

The stabbing caused patrons to flee in all directions, Kaple said.

The BET awards are being held Sunday evening at the Nokia Theatre.

In anticipation of the many parties being held in the area, police had already beefed up a presence in the area. They arrived in riot gear to quickly put down any disturbances.

Police said no arrests have been made.

A security guard told Kaple that the rapper, The Game, was attending the party where the stabbing took place. He was not the host, they said. No one in The Game's party was injured.

One party guest, Dominique Panetta, was inside the club when the stabbing occurred.

"One of my friends called me and asked me what was going on because she knew I right here on this street," Panetta said, "I told her, 'I'm good.' Just waiting for the police to settle everything down. You just have to keep your composure when stuff like that happens."
