Woman Dies After Being Stabbed Near USC Campus

EXPOSITION PARK (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say an unidentified woman has died Friday evening after being stabbed near the University of Southern California campus.

The Los Angeles Police Department says officers responded to Budlong Avenue and 36th Street in Exposition Park around 7:50 p.m. after a report of a stabbing.

When they arrived, they found a female victim. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.

According to witness accounts, the woman was stabbed with a broken bottle, CBS2's Rachel Kim reported in the 11 o'clock hour.

Subsequently, one person was taken into custody.

Meanwhile, school officials indicated that the stabbing was not university-related. Rather, authorities believe the incident was a domestic dispute.
