Spectrum Club Plans Fundraiser For ALS Research

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A local gym is honoring one of its own by sponsoring an ALS fundraiser to raise awareness. ALS also is known as "Lou Gehrig's disease."

Toni brown was a popular longtime fitness instructor at Spectrum Club. She was diagnosed with ALS in 2011.

Friends, colleagues and Olympic athletes came to honor Brown.

Various group fitness classes will be offered Saturday at local Spectrum Athletic Clubs for $25.

The money will be donated for medical research on ALS.
