5:10PM UPDATE: Special Olympics confirm their athletes boarded an alternate bus and have been found.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Media representatives for the Special Olympics say they are looking for two athletes from the Russian delegation who were seen last in Griffith Park.

The organization says the athletes were last seen at the golf course at the park around 4 p.m. on Thursday.

It was determined that the athletes were missing when a head count was conducted.

The organization says it's possible this may be a case where the athletes ended up on the wrong bus, but won't know if that was the case until the buses arrive at their destination.
