SpaceX Falcon Rocket Ready To Be Launched Again After Historic Landing
HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket that made history after landing on its own is ready to be launched again.
Billionaire Elon Musk says the rocket was not damaged during its last mission.
Musk posted an image of the rocket with a caption that read: "Falcon 9 back in the hangar at Cape Canaveral. No damage found, ready to fire again."
The Falcon 9 flight made a breakthrough two weeks ago for being the first rocket to smoothly land back on Earth in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The mission delivered a constellation of 11 communication satellites into orbit.
The Hawthorne company says landing rockets upright is crucial to cutting the cost of space travel because the rockets can be reused.
Rockets usually have to be disposed of after launch because they sustain too much damage.
There is no word yet of when the rocket will be launched.
