Southern California Woman Rattled By What She Found In Her Bathtub

SAN DIEGO (CBSLA.com) — A San Diego homeowner was rattled by what she found in her bathtub.

The County of San Diego Department of Animal Services says the woman in the Golden Hill area turned on her water to preheat it on May 5 when she was startled by a one-foot snake.

The ball python hovered around the drain until animal services arrived to remove it.

The snake was quickly rescued and taken back to an animal care facility on Gaines Street, authorities said.

The homeowners told animal services that their apartment was secured and they have no idea how the snake got into their home.

Experts say it's not native to the area so it could be someone's missing pet.
