Southern California Saw Hottest October On Record

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Most of Southern California experienced the hottest October ever, with temperatures in some areas breaking records by several degrees.

The National Weather Service says the average mean temperature in downtown Los Angeles was 75.6 degrees last month — shattering the previous record of 74.2, in place since 1983.

San Diego recorded an average monthly temperature of 74.4 degrees — 7.7 degrees above average.

San Diego's Lindbergh Field broke the previous October average of 72.2, set in 1983.

The weather service says October 2015 also set records in Woodland Hills, Burbank, Santa Barbara, and Oxnard.
