Southern California Gets Showers, Lightning

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — Tropical moisture streaming across Southern California has brought showers, lightning and some downpours to the region.

Scattered power outages affecting several thousand customers are reported Monday morning, mostly in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Lightning was spotted off the coast of Palos Verdes, plus thunder reported in Norco. Riverside County Department of Animal Services spokesman John Welsh also reported plenty of lightning over Woodcrest.

The National Weather Service says the showers and thunderstorms will continue through the afternoon as a weak low-pressure trough moves through.
