Southern California Braces For Winter-Like Storm

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Southern California was preparing for a winter-like storm Thursday.

The cold upper level low pressure system will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the Southland Thursday through Friday.

The area will also experience below average temperatures, and snow levels may drop to 5,000 feet Thursday and between 5,500 and 6,000 feet Friday.

Glendora Police issued a Yellow Alert for the city as a precaution due to the threat of thunderstorms.

Homes were lined with K-rails and sandbags in preparation.

A combination of gusty winds and accumulating snowfall will make driving conditions dangerous to resort levels.

Temperatures are expected to return to normal over the weekend.
