A 33-year-old man riding an electric scooter was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles on Wednesday, according to police.

The crash was reported at around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Hoover Street and 75th Street, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers say that the man was riding an e-scooter in the area when he was struck by a vehicle.

Instead of stopping to help the victim, the driver fled from the area.
