Teenage Boy Critically Injured In South LA Shooting

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A teenage boy remained hospitalized in critical condition Friday for treatment of a gunshot wound to his head.

The shooting unfolded shortly before 1 a.m. near 56th Street and Figueroa, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was a passenger who traveled in a car with two other males, aged 15 to 18.

A group of males standing on the street approached the car and fired several shots.

The number of suspects in the group and a description of the shooter were not immediately available.

Police are investigating whether the shooting was gang-related.
