South LA Murder Suspect Arrested In San Francisco

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Monday announced the arrest of a murder suspect wanted in the killing of a 21-year-old Texas man.

Oscar Bridges was arrested Saturday for the Jan. 23 fatal stabbing of Robert Brewer in a motel room in the 10400 Block of South Vermont Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

Bridges was arrested in San Francisco despite a tip that led deputies to the Hollywood Hills area last week for a massive search.

It was unclear how the 54-year-old suspect was located in Northern California.

"Bridges will be transported to Norwalk Sheriff's Station and booked for murder," spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said.

Additional information on his arrest will be released at an 11:30 a.m. news conference.
