South LA Man Pleads No Contest To Stabbing 6-Year-Old Son To Death

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A South Los Angeles man has pleaded no contest to killing his 6-year-old son.

Authorities say 39-year-old Alejandro Santoyo Sanchez stabbed the boy to death in September of 2014.

Neighbors heard a commotion and saw Sanchez, covered in blood, standing outside of a home. Authorities say he was incoherent.

His son, Nathan Alexander Sanchez, was found in bed in a trailer behind a home. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

On Tuesday, Sanchez pleaded no contest to second-degree murder with a special allegation that he used a knife. He's facing 16 years to life in prison.

Authorities haven't disclosed why he killed the boy.
