South LA Crash Kills Passenger In Car, Injures 2

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed when a car operated by a suspected drunken driver struck at least three parked vehicles in South Los Angeles early Sunday morning, police said.

The incident took place at 57th Street and Gramercy Place around 2:25 a.m., according to Norma Eisenman, a Los Angeles police officer assigned to the Media Relations Section.

Eisenman told City News Service that a rear-seat passenger in the car died at the scene.

Two other people, one in serious condition and the other in fair condition, were taken to an area hospital, according to Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No further information was immediately available.
