Softball Coach Arrested On Suspicion Of Contacting 14-Year-Old Girl For Lewd Acts

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Long Beach police have released an image of a man arrested on suspicion of contacting a 14-year-old girl for sex in the hope that any other potential victims will reveal themselves.

Anthony Christopher Sota, 40, of Anaheim, was arrested on Nov. 26 and was booked on two felony counts of "contacting a minor for lewd acts," according to Long Beach police.

Sota, who also goes by the name De La Sota, was working as a "travel softball coach" for the girl's softball team when he allegedly sent her lewd messages that were aimed at meeting her for sex in October.

Sota is not associated with any school, police said.

Police suspect that Sota, who is now free on bail, may have committed similar crimes, and detectives are asking that any other victims call Detective Sean Irving at (562) 570-7368.
