SoCal Honda Dealers Offer Free Uber Rides Following Super Bowl 50

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Honda advertisement that aired during the third quarter of Sunday's Super Bowl was a hit with fans, and may even save some lives.

Their calling it their biggest random act of helpfullness, and all you had to do was put a code in your phone to take advantage of the deal.

Putting the code, "Helpful" into the Uber App gave locals the chance to win a free ride for up to two hours after the game ended.

"We're all about doing unexpectedly helpful things in the community, and on a day like today, we thought what can we do to help people in the community to be safe and enjoy the Super Bowl as much as possible." Lauren Kay of SoCal Honda Dealers said.

Triple-A says Super Bowl Sunday is the second deadliest day of the year for drunk driving related crimes, just after New Years.

"The fact that we have someone locally offering free rides is a positive reinforcement, it's going to save lives," Executive Director of Mothers Against Drunk Driving Southern California Patricia Rillera said.
