Snow A Welcome Sight In Big Bear

BIG BEAR (CBSLA.com) — Snow Summit in Big Bear opened Saturday morning with eight to ten inches of fresh powder.

The resort told CBS2's Greg Mills that this weekend may possibly be the biggest ski weekend of the season.

They opened just after 8:30 a.m. but snow started falling Friday evening around 5 p.m.

Mills cautioned that Highway 18 from Snow Valley to Big Bear Dam is shut down due to rock slides. Drivers were advised to take Highway 138 through Mentone or Highway 18 through Lucerne Valley.
