Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Brea Landfill After Losing Power

BREA (CBSLA.com) — The pilot of a small plane with engine problems made an emergency landing Monday at a landfill in the Brea area.

The pilot reported losing power when he set down the Beechcraft Bonanza at 1942 Valencia Ave. about 12:50 p.m. The landfill is about eight miles east of Fullerton Municipal Airport, according to Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration.

The pilot and passenger aboard the plane were not hurt, Gregor said. The plane had originated from Fullerton and was headed to Chino.

The FAA will investigate the incident, Gregor said.
