Small But Fast-Moving Brush Fire Reported In Sherman Oaks

SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA.com)  —    A small but fast-moving brush fire has been reported in Sherman Oaks.

The fire is burning in the 14000 block of Deervale Place.

Crews are dropping water on the nearly one acre blaze.

Officials said several large homes in the area are threatened by embers.

LA City Fire is fighting the flames on the ground and from the air, reported Stu Mundel in Sky 2.

He saw at least three helicopters dropping water on the flames.

Brush clearance in the area aided firefighters, he reported.

"They definitely have a handle on it," Mundel said of the firefighting effort.

No injuries have been reported.
