Sizzler Owner Pistol-Whipped During Anaheim Robbery

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — The owner of an Orange County Sizzler restaurant was recovering Tuesday after he was pistol-whipped during a late night robbery.

The crime occurred around 10 p.m. when customers were still inside the restaurant, located in the 800 block of S. Brookhurst Street in Anaheim.

"We closed the restaurant and five minutes later, three guys came in the front door and looked at me . . .  and I said, 'Oh my god, I'm going to be robbed," owner Zee Hussain said.

The suspects, described as three men in their 20s wearing hoodies, held Hussain and another employee at gunpoint while demanding money.

The men then attacked Hussain, striking him with a gun in the head and face.

Hussain handed the men an envelope filled with about $2,000 in cash and they fled the store on foot.

"You know what? I'm alive, 'cause if they wouldn't have found the money, a gun in your face? It scares you," he added. "Money comes and goes, okay? You cannot replace a life."

No additional injuries were reported.

The restaurant did not have a video surveillance system.
