Single-Engine Plane Crashes In Rancho Cucamonga

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — A pilot was injured Friday when a single-engine plane crashed in Rancho Cucamonga.

The pilot had moderate injuries, officials said.

The plane, which broke into several pieces on impact, had no passengers.

The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. near a wash in the base of the foothills, near Almond Street.

There was no word on pilot's identity, but the plane is registered out of Glendora.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but officials cited engine failure as a possibility.
