Woman Accused Of Posing As Driver, Taking Vehicle From Simi Valley Car Wash

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a woman has been arrested after being accused of illegally taking a vehicle from a car wash in Simi Valley.

Just before noon Sunday, police say a Simi Valley resident was having her car washed when an attendant summoned her to get her vehicle.

That's when authorities say a woman approached the vehicle, was provided the keys, and made off with the vehicle.

"The car wash attendant soon realized that the woman that he gave the vehicle keys to was not the owner of the vehicle," said Simi Valley police in a news release.

That's when police were called, and conducted a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle.

Authorities subsequently booked Brenda Hendrix, 33, on suspicion of unlawfully taking a vehicle.
