Sig Alert Issued After Pedestrian Killed On I-5 Freeway In Paramount

PARAMOUNT (CBSLA.com) — The northbound lanes of the I-5 Freeway in Paramount were closed Thursday morning after a body was found in the lanes.

A Sig Alert was issued just before 4:40 a.m. due to a fatal collision just north of Paramount Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol said.

When officials arrived on scene, they found a pedestrian who had been struck by at least one vehicle.

Traffic was being taken off the freeway at Paramount where drivers were instructed to turn left onto Telegraph Road and then pick up I-5.

All lanes were reopened just before 7 a.m.
